Feels Like Home

Knowing about a place is important for it to feel like home because you have to can only make such a strong opinion if you are well informed about the place to begin with. You won't feel connected if you don't know enough about a place. You also won't know what is good or bad for you relative to the place you call home. When exposed to a new area there is a feeling of discomfort, and as you learn more about your surroundings it is natural to want to feel more comfortable. Much like being in a dark room, you first have no clue what's going on, or what is around you. As your eyes adjust to the light, you are more at ease and can adjust yourself to surroundings.

To feel at home, you need to have friends or things you consider to be a part of your life. You may feel at home if you walk by something every day. If that object is removed, you may feel that you are in foreign territory, and this won't feel like a home. You should know where you fit in, because if you feel out of place you wan't feel at home.

The resources that are needed in a community are going to be the basic needs so that people can feel safe. This is considering a hierarchy of needs. First, people need to feel safe, in shelter, and have food, water, and other basic needs. Next, there needs to be a state of comfort in which the thing a person enjoys is present. For our group, would like our friends and family to be in a reasonable distance. There should be somewhere where we can get exercise and play sports. Several public works and entertainment based areas for me to find enjoyment. Another thing that a community needs is a a public law enforcement group such as the police. It also needs an emergency response system like firefighters, or EMS people to stop the distruction or drive people to the hospital.
