Communities
The dictionary defines Community as a group of people having common interests or living in one locality. To us, community means so much more than this defitinition. Community is more than having a common interest or living place, it's about sharing ideas and goals with one another in effective ways. Having language in a community is also important because it helps people to relate to other individuals. To make a sustainable cocmmunity, there needs to be good communication, and the ability for the members to work well together and want to work together. The members need to share the same goals and be able to compromise in certain situations. Ohio University is a good example of a sustainable community. It has worked well for many years. They do a ood job of communicating to the students through email, newsletters, flyers, bulletins etc. I feel as though the students of Ohio University communicate well to the university. The communtiy also offers a very diverse language experience. There are a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds that are enrolled at the college which improves your cultural experience. The Ohio University community does a good job of making students feel welcome and that they are in community that cares.
