Community Definition

A community is group of people with a common interest. This can be as complex as a language, or as simple as a sports team. These people interact constantly and share ideas. These people may also share beliefs and goals.

Sustainability is created by many different factors. A large contributor to this would be the act of symbiosis. This is where one person or thing helps another person or thing. An example of this would be a shark who benefits from a fish cleaning its teeth, and the fish benefits from eating the food.

Leadership must also be present for a community to be sustained. This creates a sense of direction which the community is headed, and order can be retained. Leaders also give guidelines to the community so everyone can follow the same path and achieve the same achievements.

An example of a sustainable community is a family. Most families remain in contact, however seldom, for their entire lives. Leadership is less of a factor here, but an interest to stay connected drives families to remain a community.
